Entrust urges 372,000 Aucklanders to check details ahead of dividend rollout

“Ready for some extra $$?” - that’s the question Entrust is putting to more than 372,000 power account holders across central, east, and south Auckland as it prepares for this year’s dividend, the largest of its kind in New Zealand.

Since 1994, Entrust has paid out more than $2.5 billion to households and businesses across the Entrust District, with a payment of $364 to beneficiaries last year.  The dividend payment comes through its majority ownership of listed energy company Vector.

Entrust is encouraging those eligible to keep an eye on their letterbox or email inbox over the next week for information.

Entrust Chair Denise Lee, says now is the time for eligible Aucklanders to check details to ensure they receive their payment without delay if they are still eligible at dividend time.

“We know many people across the Entrust District look forward to this payment, because they tell us. For some it helps with day-to-day costs, for others it’s a bit of extra breathing room. Either way, we want it easy to receive in late September,” says Ms Lee.

Eligible power account holders can choose to receive their dividend as a direct credit to their bank account or as a credit to their power account. Those on prepay power can only receive their dividend via direct credit.

To be eligible for the 2026 dividend, you must be a power account holder connected to Vector’s electricity network within the Entrust District on the roll date later this year.

“The fastest and easiest way to update your details is through our secure web page. It only takes a few minutes,” says Ms Lee.

Don't miss out - three easy steps to getting your 2026 dividend:

  1. Check your letterbox or email inbox for information from Entrust – out this week.
  2. If the account holder details are correct and you don’t want to change the payment method do nothing. Otherwise, update your payment details online via Entrust’s secure web page, by 5:00pm, Friday 07 August
  3. To receive future Entrust communications via email, check and update your email details with your electricity retailer.
